Basically, a bit back she found out she had Breast Cancer. Had a lumpectomy, only to find some concerning stuff in the follow-up MRI. So, double mastectomy. Most of the last couple months I've been back and forth and spending up to a week with her sometimes during her recoveries for both surgeries.
I painted the "Pink Ribbon Ankh" to help remind her she's loved, that she's alive, and to keep LIVING, not just surviving. And hopefully that will bring her some cheer and encouragement as she faces Chemotherapy and radiation therapy in the upcoming months. For the time at least that she's under-going treatments, this featured deviation will remain featured, despite it's obvious imperfections. Still, not bad for my first time picking up a brush in 9 or so years.
I keep my friends up to date via mass-mailings. The outpouring of support and well-wishes has been almost overwhelming. And I've thanked everyone dearly for that. Mom really appreciates everyone's well-wishes and prayers, as do I.
Next up, if anyone is curious about my friend's novel, Doghouse Chronicles: Everything Old is New Again. I still have the links. The link to the original DA journal entry with ALL the links it here.. [link]
And the link to the official site itself, now new and improved with a number of character pictures is here.. [link]
RG is a very talented feline. ~_^ Her writing is among the best I've read.
Also, I THINK I'm gonna have to wipe out the deviation and message notices that are built up. Since I haven't been on DA much, I've accumulated 902 Deviations, 415 Messages.
I might scan them and click on some that might catch my eye. But I think the best idea is to delete the notices and start over. Means I'll probably miss some NEAT art. But I don't know how long it'll take me to view over 900 deviations or read all those messages.
I MAY Do an art dump here in the near future. I have new pics, new animations, and some digi-pics of some of my more recent holiday sketches. Not as good as scanned imagery, but it's good enough to see what the lineart is. Still working on saving up for a new computer and looking for a bigger than conventional scanner. Had 2 major expenses this month that have really drained my funds though, so I'm back to about square one there.
Guess that's about it. Later.

I miss the good ol' days, when gay meant happy, queer meant odd, and faggot meant a bundle of sticks...
